Our Founder

Patrick Gilbert is the founder of Valhalla Inspections and a retired military veteran with over 23 years of service. During his military career, Patrick held roles in logistics, operations, and maintenance  management, all of which sharpened his ability to spot details others might overlook. His eagle-eye precision, honed through years of service, is now at the core of every home inspection he performs.

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Patrick moved to Minnesota in 2009 with his wife, Kari, to help her reconnect with her Minnesota roots. With the kids away at college, their home may be an empty nest, but it’s far from quiet—thanks to their three dogs and one opinionated cat who graciously share the space with them.

Naming his company Valhalla Inspections is more than a nod to his military background—it’s a tribute to the values that define him: honor, integrity, and dedication. For Patrick, Valhalla represents a place of trust and respect, values he brings to every inspection.

As a Veteran, Patrick brings a level of focus and discipline to his work that’s unmatched. His military experience taught him to leave no stone unturned, ensuring that every home he inspects is evaluated with the same thoroughness and care he applied throughout his career. It’s not just about finding potential issues—it’s about giving homeowners, buyers, and real estate professionals the confidence that every detail has been meticulously examined.

When Patrick isn’t on the job, he enjoys the great outdoors, exploring Minnesota’s lakes and trails with his dogs or working on home improvement projects of his own. His love for details and dedication to service remain at the heart of everything he does, both at work and at home.
